Thank you for your comments, Kurt. It has been a few years since I wrote this, so I can’t remember the context, but it may have been an assignment for us to react to Pike. Due to the brevity of the article, I don’t think it was meant to be a full defense. To be honest, I still struggle with the idea of God and time. I probably don’t completely agree with what I wrote two years ago. As I continue to read, study, learn, and grow, my thoughts continue to develop.

For a philosophy grad student, I’m surprised to see so many “I believe” statements in your blog post without any logical support to back them up. Please explain why you believe god is atemporal and what evidence or logic you have to support it. Furthermore, how do you define the concept of freedom or free will? Where do you locate the importance of alternative possibilities, a problem which still arises in the discussion of freedom and omniscience. Are alternative possibilities not essential to your definition of free will? If such is the case, how do you define free will without them?

I don’t wish to be rude, but I find your analysis of Pike’s argument largely inadequate and based on assumption.

I began a 21 day fast on Jan. 2. I have been able to hear God’s voice and have had dreams/visions of His goodness and glory. The battle is truly on! teh enemy has now used each and every single member of my family to bring strife into my life this week. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but are mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds. The enemy hates it when we refuse to give up, and we take back what he stole. The good news is that my family is now willing to counsel with my spirit filled pastor. He will advise them all to repent and be saved. God bless ya’ll.
